Optiscan has been featured in Biotech Dispatch regarding its partnership with Monash University to advance the development of next-generation gastrointestinal (GI) flexible endomicroscopes powered by edge-artificial intelligence (AI) technology. This collaboration will focus on integrating Optiscan's miniaturized flexible digital endomicroscopic probe with standard commercially available endoscopes, allowing for the automatic detection and analysis of cancerous and precancerous lesions using AI.

Supported by a Cooperative Research Centres Projects (CRC-P) grant from the Australian Department of Industry, Science, and Resources, Optiscan has already received nearly $1 million towards the project.

CEO Dr. Camile Farah stated, “This agreement with Monash University represents a significant step towards better diagnosis and treatment of gastrointestinal diseases. It also highlights the immense potential of Optiscan's technology to revolutionize GI diagnostics, benefiting not just cancer detection but also conditions like Crohn’s Disease, Ulcerative Colitis, and Irritable Bowel Syndrome.”
