FAQ
About Optiscan
Q: What is Optiscan?
Optiscan (Optiscan Imaging Ltd; ASX ticker OIL) is an Australian-based global medtech company transforming diagnostics and surgical decision-making through live, in vivo cellular imaging. Our technology eliminates the need for traditional biopsy and slide-based pathology by delivering real-time, high-resolution microscopic images at the point of care. By placing this capability directly in the hands of surgeons, pathologists, and researchers, we’re accelerating decision-making, improving outcomes, and redefining how diseases are studied, detected, and treated.
Q: How did Optiscan begin?
Our technology was born research uundertaken at Monash University, where scientists developed a way to miniaturize complex confocal microscope components using optical fiber. This innovation became the foundation for our fully integrated, miniaturized confocal laser endomicroscopes — designed for use across surgery, pathology, and life sciences.
Q: What is your long-term vision?
Our long-term vision is to make real-time, high-resolution, cellular imaging a standard tool across global healthcare. We aim to lead the future of digital pathology and precision surgeryh through continued innovation in both hardware and software offerings.
