Optiscan has been featured in Stockhead, The Australian, and 11 News Corp mastheads for its groundbreaking collaboration with Mayo Clinic to develop digital imaging technology for robotic-assisted breast cancer surgery.

The article highlights major milestones achieved at the 12-month mark of the 24-month agreement, including successful integration of Optiscan’s confocal endomicroscopic imaging system with robotic surgical platforms and the development of compatible probe accessories. These advances aim to deliver real-time, high-resolution imaging that enhances tissue classification, cancer margin assessment, and surgical precision—ultimately improving clinical outcomes and reducing the need for repeat surgeries.

The project has now progressed to prototype testing and preclinical studies, with the next phase to take place at Mayo Clinic’s Florida campus.

Commenting on the collaboration, CEO Dr. Camile Farah said, “Harnessing the core strengths of both groups, all target deliverables at the 12-month anniversary of the agreement have been met. This collaboration clearly highlights the versatility of our imaging platform. It will set the stage for the platform’s application across a range of clinical settings, improving both surgical precision and patient care.”
