Optiscan has been featured in Tim Boreham’s Health & Biotech column for Stockhead, highlighting the company’s lodgement of a US FDA 510(k) submission for its InVue precision surgery platform just days after submitting its InForm digital pathology device for review.

The article focuses on Vdevice’s potential to bring real-time, cellular-level microscopic imaging directly into the operating theatre, enabling surgeons to visualise tissue while the patient remains in theatre. It highlights surgical oncology as the platform’s initial target market, particularly the challenge of identifying residual cancer at surgical margins, and notes Optiscan’s estimate of a US cancer surgery market encompassing around 1.27 million patients annually and representing a US$4.8 billion opportunity. The article also notes that, if cleared, InVue and InForm would become Optiscan’s first FDA-cleared devices for human use.

Stockhead also reported that Optiscan shares rose 12% following the InVue submission announcement.
